Golden Howl at Mr. Peabody's

Born from the roots of the Earth, Golden Howl brings songs that capture the essence of life. Golden Howl is a fresh indie folk rock band based out of San Diego. With ear-catching layered harmonies, beautifully mysterious on-stage synergy and carefully crafted songs, they will pull you in and captivate. Formed in 2016 by founding members Marlo Smith, Shannon O'Shea and Christopher Balcom, quickly adding Rachel Riba on percussion, and Dimitry Zingerman on guitar, and eventually adding Jules Stewart on drums and Joshua Mooers on bass, Golden Howl had all the pieces to plug into the outlet of creativity. With a non-traditional setup and unique instrumentation, you will be left in excitement and curiosity for the next song.

\This special show is a fundraiser for leukemia/lymphoma and Golden Howl is very excited to be a part of this event!

Lady Brain Presents Community Gathering

Join us for another excellent showcase of community, talent, and passion in September’s Lady Brain Presents Community Gathering. The theme of this month’s gathering is In Celebration of Life: music, word and art inspired by death, dying, grief and existence. The music featured at this event will include selected songs from Lindsay White, Veronica May, Marie Haddad, Astra Kelly, Carissa Schroeder, Julia Sage, Ren Deversa, Marlo Smith, and Golden Howl.

About Lady Brain:

Our vision is to reject the notion that women-identifying artists must compete or hoard information in order to succeed in their respective fields. Lady Brain Collective believes that women are excellent at building communities, celebrating creativity, sparking inspiration, and taking care of each other. Based on the foundation of service, members openly and willingly offer their unique skills, knowledge, ideas, and talents to their fellow sisters in order to develop creative and collaborative opportunities for each other, thereby transforming the definition of what it means to be a successful artist. A rising tide lifts all boats, and the Lady Brain Collective is indeed a rising tide.

Chris Avetta at Booze Brothers

From West Coast listening rooms to UK pubs, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and visual artist Chris Avetta enchants audiences with her Joni Mitchell-esque music and sense of humor. Whether playing solo or with her full band, Avetta’s silky and sassy brand of “forest-pop indie folk with country sprinkles” includes quirky stage banter that is just as entertaining as the tunes themselves. Her latest LP Shadows (produced by Grammy-award winning Wesley Switzer at L.A.’s Milestone Studios) is a beautiful and multifaceted exploration on matters of the heart. Or, in her words, on “being ghosted and treated like a piece of meat.” San Diego Troubadour described Avetta’s vocals as “the star of the show,” and entertainment blog We Love That said her music is “perfect for a stroll through the woods.”
