C Gibbs and grampadrew at Casbah

C. Gibbs is an American Musician and Songwriter. He is also the generating force behind the bands He Arrived By Helicopter, Lucinda Black Bear, The Droves and has released projects also under the name of Motherwell Johnston, The C. Gibbs Review, The C. Gibbs Group ( Atlantic Records), C. Gibbs and The Cardia Bros., and one solo album as Christian Gibbs. He once played guitar in Modern English while studying in London and subsequently abandoned college to embark on American tours with that band. Then relocating to New York he started the post punk band Morning Glories who released three albums on Headhunter / Cargo.

Gibbs eventually released his first solo album under the name The C. Gibbs Review . Soon after that album's release Gibbs signed with Atlantic Records as The C. Gibbs Group and toured with John Cougar Mellencamp, Son Volt, Margaret Cho, Everclear and more. Along the way, he played with JG Thirlwell's Foetus, Dave Vanian ( The Damned) and eventually started Lucinda Black Bear a more orchestral outfit garnering praise in NPR, PASTE and other notable media outlets. C Gibbs also played on Broadway in the rock musical Passing Strange and was in the Spike Lee documentary of the same name. Gibbs released an album of more experimental instrumental music under the name He Arrived By Helicopter in 2018 but his latest record, "Tales from The Terramar" was released in Sept 2021.

grampadrew is an acoustic troubador bringing together diverse influences such as Joy Division, Wilco, John Prine, Crass and Hank Williams. An artist who alternates between "the fire of a street-preacher and the quiet of a grave-digger" his new album, Greatest Hits is produced by Jeff Berkley and is a who's who of prominent San Diego musicians and songwriters.

Jules will get the distinct privilege of playing with both C. Gibbs and grampadrew for this show.
